Indian Empire and East India Company Printed Works
Medium: Printed
Number of items: 6,000 items (dispersed).
In the 1920s, the Library acquired an extensive collection of printed research material for the history of India in the 18th and 19th centuries. It includes state papers, government reports and publications, many of which, printed in remote parts of India, would have been unprocurable without the generous assistance of successive holders of the office of Secretary of State for India. For the history of the East India Company and Warren Hastings the material is especially rich, about 1,000 items in all.
